In June 2024, Marty and I were honored at the monthly Board of Supervisors’ meeting to receive the Henrico County Land Lovers’ Award for our District. The award recognizes properties who participate in sustainable land use practices including but not limited to recycling, composting, water and soil conservation, and native landscaping.
We were nominated by one of our neighbors who told us she was so happy to see us doing so much in a short time to beautify the property she’d lived next to for so many years.
The learning process is continuous, so I’m grateful to have the good health, time, energy, and support to create a setting that we all have come to love and one in which it’s easy for me to experience a deep connection to Nature every time I set foot outside.
