One thing that never ceases to fascinate me after over thirty visits to Costa Rica is the tremendous beauty of land, shore, sea, and sky. The ecosystems here are classified biologically according to Holdridge's Life Zones (combinations of altitude, temperature, and precipitation). It is important to note that Costa Rica has 12 of Holdridge's 38 Life Zones thus helping to explain its tremendous biodiversity.

This gallery presents my favorite images of places I love. I invite you to visit my galleries of Costa Rican Flora and Costa Rican Fauna to see images of plants and animals from these Life Zones
