I am fortunate to have been able visit Salzburg for a week in March four different years as a participant in the International Study Program of the Salzburg Global Seminar. Salzburg is a very photogenic and charming city that's easily accessible on foot from the Schloss Leopoldskron, the Seminar's home.
Salzburg is particularly meaningful place for me because my father, who served in the US Army during WWII was part of the force that liberated the city from the Germans. He rarely spoke about his military service except to tell me that he was happy to be in Salzburg when the war ended in 1945.
This gallery's images were made in and around the Schloss Leopoldskron, a Baroque palace that also served as part of the set for The Sound of Music. .
